Try Praying – It could Change Your Life -launches across Hull and East Yorkshire

Churches across the city of Hull and East Yorkshire have come together to launch a Try Praying campaign with the help of East Yorkshire Motor Services and Stagecoach.

Church leaders met with Engineering Manager Andy from East Yorkshire Buses who shared an overview of the bus operations and how it helps connect the region, then church leaders talked about Try Praying and how it helps connect people with God.

27 million adults in the UK pray and for those who say they are not religious, 1 in 5 prays*.

Throughout the month of September churches have been handing out the Try Praying booklets to friends, family and anyone who is curious in learning more about prayer.

Jubilee Church supported by the Bishop of Hull, the Heart for Hull Initiative and Churches from a variety of denominations have been instrumental in helping to make Try Praying happen which included a launch in Hull Minster earlier in September.

Individuals and churches have been incredibly generous in donating to the bus campaign which meant we could pay for advertising across the sides and backs of buses. And it was exciting to see the buses appear with the Try Praying banners soon after the Coldplay concerts and performances of their song ‘We Pray’.

*These statistics came from the Trypraying organisation. Try Praying began as a booklet created by David Hill (who was born in Hull). It quickly became a church project, then a multi church project and is now multi regional. For more information go to www.trypraying.org
