How We Work
A Heart for Hull team – comprising a part time Enabler and Administrator – has been recruited to help the Hull Deanery develop the different workstreams.
This gives people the opportunity to share good practice, ideas and challenges they are facing. Each workshop hopes to share something new that is useful and encouraging to everyone attending. One of the key outcomes from each workshop is to set up a working group who are passionate and/or experienced in that particular area and develop some of the ideas and challenges identified.
Consulting closely with the Deanery Leadership team and Bishop of Hull, they are helping to start up each workstream with a workshop to which Church leaders and members from across the Deanery are invited.
An example of the workstream around Grassroots and Parish Ministry is the Treasurer Pilot.
From the Poverty & Wholeness workshop held in December 2024, a working group has been formed and is at the start of ways of journeying with people that encourages a sense of belonging, supports physical and emotional healing and space to learn about the Christian faith.
The next workshop to be held will be for the Children & Young People’s workstream:
With all the workstreams we are keen to connect and collaborate with Churches, community groups and organisations across the city.
The Heart for Hull team is a 3 year resource. The hope is at the end of that time every parish, across the Hull Deanery, has been able to benefit through the team’s support, that there is more collaboration among churches across the city and more people are keen to be part of a church community.
